THE RESOURCE
I have often placed my hands on my womb. Holding. Cradling. Being with. I have been learning about the wisdom held in my body for the past 6 years. Last year I realized the acronym of ‘wisdom of my body’ is womb. And it’s so fitting isn’t it, it is all in the womb. The womb is where we were created. Where we were born from. It is where we begin to develop the patterning that we will play out as personality. It is where the foundation is set, for who we are to be, what we may believe, and how we live our life. Sometimes we get lost along the way, we disconnect from our bodies, we avoid them, we push them along even when they are screaming at us to stop. But if the womb is where it all begins, this must be where we return to find our answers. We originate there. We need to return there. We are dying to return to the womb.
My work was born out of my journey into the underworlds of anxiety and panic attacks. It comes from more than a decade of engaging in my own inner work, which I believe carries a depth of embodiment and experience, that no degree or certificate can provide any of us (even though I have lots of them ;).
For I once felt isolated in the extremes of my body’s sensations and symptoms, I no longer feel isolated. What I understand now is that I am attuned. That I am listening. That the line of communication between myself and my body is open. I now understand that my body expresses what has been repressed or suppressed. Nothing is wrong with my body. It holds all the stories that I have lived. And when I listen to it’s wisdom, I transform. I uncover peace. I become free.
And this is now my work with others. What has become very clear to me over the last 5 months, is that I teach my clients how to resource. All human beings share pain, grief, anger, joy, and all the rest. We all experience sensation and symptoms arising from our bodies, ultimately communicating to us, delivering subtle and sometimes not so subtle messages. This is not something to sit alone in, as we have done for too long. If only we shared the depths of ourselves with one another, may it remove some layers of shame we each carry in our hearts. We’re missing the tribe, and it can be brought back. We are missing support, and it is here now.
